RCA cables are what most think of when you say, Audio/Video Cables. The cables consisting of three wires carry both left and right channels of audio along with a cable for composite video. The cables carry the RCA connector on the ends which can be used when connecting home entertainment devices together such as a TV and DVD player. Each connector is color coded with yellow for video and red and white for the right and left audio channels respectively. The RCA connector is also used for other audio channels in home entertainment such as surround sound systems. They are also used as the connectors for Componant Video Cables.
